Marriott SpringHill Suites Old Montreal

Nice hotel, well located, attentive staff BUT impossible to sleep because of the street noise and the air conditioning. Very, very insufficient insulation despite a complete renovation of the establishment in 2025 We made a complaint that was heard by management (known issue) but this hotel should be avoided until major work has been carried out.

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights recently and like everyone said, location is fantastic. Close to everything Old Montreal has to offer. Our room was fine. Nice firm bed and plenty of room. AC was as loud but fortunately it worked okay so no problem there. I do see why they are upgrading their system though. Overall I’d recommend the AC Hotel though I wish they stayed a Spring Hill Marriot because that includes breakfast 😊

First, the positives. The location of the hotel was great for easily getting around Old Montreal without having to drive. It is located on a side street so it is fairly quiet. The staff is, in general very nice. However, there are some issues with the hotel. We were traveling with family so we had booked 3 rooms. Each of the rooms had an issue with the HVAC system. While it was working, it was extraordinarily loud and, in one room was either freezing or hot. When we asked the hotel to check the units we were told that they were in the middle of switching all of the units out because they were so loud and not working well. We believe that we should have been told that was happening and that our three rooms all had the old units. The rooms were also fairly dark and could use better lighting. Two of our rooms had terraces and one had no separation between our terrace and the room next door. We opened the curtains one morning the person from the next room laying his laundry on the chairs for our room. That was unacceptable. There is pay by the night parking but beware that if you have a tall car or roof carrier some of the spots may be too low for your vehicle. We were very unhappy with the breakfast buffet, which was very expensive, and although there were a few hot items, was not much more than a continental breakfast. The day that we ate breakfast, they were out of several things. If you are looking for a reasonable location and are fairly self sufficient then this hotel could work for you.
