OM Montreal

We booked a weekend in Montreal for the F1, as we were continuing our journey across America afterwards we tried to keep the hotel fund low, so we did the mistake of booking here. Our flights were delayed a few hours but this was emailed to me months in advance of the flight, we had already booked this hotel. It meant that we wouldn't make the check in time, and we emailed and requested if we could turn up the next day. Our emails were ignored costantly and after pestering we got a unclear answer, that we might have to pay a little extra. We turned up there, a day late and our room had been given away, we argued but they wasn't having any of it. Ever tried to find a hotel on an F1 weekend??? IMPOSSIBLE. They didn't care and left us on the street. In the hotel in the hour or so I was there; (and after glad I didn't convince them to let us stay) I discovered that it was a grotty, disguising place that stunk of two massive unclean dogs that just walk around at their own will. Even though in time for check in on the day after, the door was locked and we waited outside drenched for an hour until one of the guys running the hostel returned. Just an unmanaged mess and a joke really

After a long day flying we arrived at the hostel around 8pm, the staff advised us that the room wasn't ready (we made the booking several months earlier!). The owner seemed really uninvolved and had no professionalism at all. We have been waiting for a while our room to be prepared, so we decided to leave and go to search another place (which was quite hard to find in that summer period!)

This hostel is a scam. Me and some friends drove from 6 hours away and had reservations here for the long weekend that we had already paid a deposit on. When we arrived there was no sign to show you were at the location, the door was locked, the owner of the hostel was not answering any phone calls. As we were standing there trying to figure out what to do, two other people walked by and told us that this place was a big scam. Te same thing had happened to them and they were charged for their nights stay on their credit card for never checkin in because the owner was never around to check them in. Same thing happened to us. Absolutely horrible establishment. There is a VERY nice and VERY accommodating hostel 3 blocks down on the corner of Sherbrooke and st Denis. Big black sign says hotel. Very cheap and highly recommended.
