RESIDENCE INN MONTREAL DOWNTOW

I had a wonderful stay at the Residence Inn by Marriott Montreal Downtown and would definitely stay here again. I arrived very early in the morning, well before the regular check-in time, and Richard was incredibly accommodating. He welcomed me, offered me breakfast even though I had not stayed the previous night, and while I was having breakfast, my room was prepared. I was able to check in around 8:30 a.m., which was such a wonderful start to my trip. The room was spacious, very clean, and exactly as advertised. The location is excellent—right in the heart of downtown and within easy reach of the metro, Old Montreal, the lookout, restaurants, cafés, and many of Montreal’s main attractions. The breakfast was also excellent, with a great variety of fresh options every day. What really stood out to me, though, was the staff. Isabelle and Shea at the front desk were incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming. They gave me wonderful recommendations for restaurants and cafés, helped me with directions, and were always happy to answer my questions about Montreal. The recommendations they gave me were excellent and made exploring the city even more enjoyable. Whenever I had a question or needed something in my room, the staff responded quickly and took care of it right away. I truly appreciated the warm, genuine, and thoughtful hospitality throughout my stay. A special thank you to Richard, Isabelle, and Shea for making my stay so comfortable and memorable. I would definitely return to this hotel and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Montreal!

The rooms are ok, staff are friendly, it is a good location. However - as somebody who has stayed in hotels once a month for 20 years I don't say this lightly- this is the worst breakfast i have ever seen in a hotel anywhere in the world. It wasn't a bad day - every day. You are lucky if there is any bread out, then you have a choice of some overcooked scrambled egg, bacon... and thats about it. You might find an apple or a banana if you are lucky. Do yourself a favour - do not pay extra for breakfast, you will regret it

The good...great location. Big rooms. Clean. The pull out couches worked great for us. The included breakfast is amazing for being included. Have I had fancier at Marriotts? Sure but the hotels were all Autographs etc where you are paying a lot more. So this was the best Residence Inn breakfast we've had. There's tons of restaurants in the area and two metros within walking distance. What made me take away a star? The parking situation is a pain. Which is fine. It's a city hotel. But we paid for parking for our stay but that doesn't guarantee a spot. So if all the spots are taken, you have to find another garage. We have a big car (family of 6) and were told that the best lot for us was blocks away. It turned out to be about 20 minutes away in Montreal traffic. And then we'd have to walk the blocks back in the rain. Luckily, my husband circled the block twice in the pouring rain, hoping that a spot would miraculously appear. And it did. But that was just luck. Our first morning there was no hot water. Ice cold showers. We were terrified that would be common but the rest of the mornings were ok. And third, the gym is pretty abysmal. Just free weights and three cardio machines. Definitely needs an upgrade.
