I had to think about putting a 4 or a 5 for this one, because the price is high, and the accommodations are simple cabins, but for the TDP area, it is a good choice for car travelers. I opted for 5 since you are getting what you are paying for given the area prices. The cabin was comfortable and spacious, with an adequate kitchen for preparing simple meals. You must bring everything for cooking; they don't have space to store oils and seasonings and such. Our beds were comfortable. One comforter was not clean, but I was able to use one from another unused bed. The carpets are old and a bit tatty, but it's a cabin after all. There is a host on site if anything arises. The heat worked great when we needed it. Water was potable. Shower was nice, but the hot water is sometimes irregular, just had to wait long enough for it. We enjoyed the front porch chairs; they could improve the outdoor space just a bit for better enjoyment. But what a view to have coffee in front of!
The area is right outside the park, but you must have a vehicle; there is no public transport within the park and given the weather variables, hitchhiking would suck. It takes about 10 minutes to get to the park entrance each day, and then the furthest spot in the park is about 1.5 hours drive max. If you gas up in Puerto Natales, you will have enough gas to see the whole park, all the accessible trails and lodges. The Rio Serrano area would benefit by a gas station, but at the moment of writing, none exists. You can walk around the area in the evening, lots of horses, cows, dogs, birds, and the river and scenery are lovely. Stay at least 3 days, more if you really like to hike and be out in nature. I'd stay here again, or if i could afford it, I'd go for Hotel Lago Grey, probably the best of all the options inside the park, imo.

The Cabin is in a beautiful, surreal location, overlooking the corners of the Paine. It is a simple Cabin, already has the kitchen utensils, has heater in all rooms, has nothing electric, shower and stove are on gas, the light is by the generator that sometimes gives some failures, there is Wi-Fi, there are morning wagons and a lake next door. Luiza is a grace. She borrowed us the bastons and clamps for the track, I forgot my alliance and she called me to let me know. Very worth the experience not to mention that it is pertinho from the Serrano entrance to the park.

nice houses in a beautiful nature reserve.
many opportunities for walks and tours
but the weather has to be good
because if the weather is bad in Torres Den Paine, then it is also bad
fortunately there is a very good restaurant near the cottages
