BELLAS ARTES SUITES

This is essentially an AirB&B type place in a decent location in Santiago, but everything inside the apartment is falling apart. My sister burned her hand on the ridiculously hot light switch, the water in the shower/bathroom sink goes from freezing to scalding in a matter of seconds, the Wifi was barely functional, utensils and glassware were missing, and outlets never worked.

In the historical center of Santiago, near the Cerro Santa Lucia, at Paseo Huerfanos and close to Paseo Ahumada, two market streets of Santiago. This Apart-hotel is one of the places to stay when traveling to Santiago. But it's not for beginners, or lazy tourists. As it's an apart hotel, it's not luxurious, nor has room service (just an employee that change the towels and clean the room). To be accurate the rooms, are actually apartments in a building that is part residential and part hotel. There's no clerk, but a caretaker of the building that has no connection to the "Bellas Artes Apart", they work for the apartment complex, that has some apartments that belongs to the Hotel. The hosts have to their work. If you overcome this, you can enjoy a safe place, like a port to rest in between your tours in Santiago. There are many good restaurants around, in the same block there's a small market to buy your necessities. The apartment is neat and clean, and has a full kitchen, if you wanna cook some fresh seafood, or even if you're tired of walking Santiago and want to have a meal at your hotel. The satisfaction is a relation of expectation and realization, if you stay there knowing beforehand that you're really renting an apartment for some days, you''l enjoy it. It's not cheap, but not so expensive. Stay there knowing where you really are, and enjoy the freedom of an easy to rent apartment in the historical center of Santiago

Travel kiosk at airport told us its a 3 star hotel - it is not!! Just a couple rooms in an apartment block. We were overcharged for the room - US$130 - but had little choice at 5am. The staff were completely unhelpful. The Internet did not work. THIS IS NOT A HOTEL - CLOSER TO A HOSTEL. DON'T STAY HERE!!!
