Ambassador Mansion

Booked on this hotel for a couple of times being that I don't have much choice as this is the only hotel available near our HQ in Beijing. On my first stay, I was given a room with two single beds, a TV (no international channels), and a mini-fridge. The room was quite nice with a water heater and good airconditioning. They clean your rooms, refill your water, change the towels, etc., every day. However, as I sleep at night, I noticed night crawlers (bed bugs) hopping around you. Water heating is also not that very consistent when trying to gauge temperatures. On my second day, I was given a room with a double sized bed (although I noticed that it was simply the same single beds that they had put together), aside from having no mini fridge, the setup was quite the same as the first one only that the shower area is relatively smaller than the first one to the point that water spills outside towards the room. Aside from that, the washroom doesn't have an electrical socket for hair blowers and the only place where there's an extra one is a place where there's no mirror in front of you. Also, I'm not sure if I was beside a smoking room, but it reeks smoke and always smells like fish.

I stayed in this hotel for 5 days and my experience was nice. The location of this hotel is very good, it is directly opposite to Jiangtai subway station exit on Line 14. A lot of facilities like extension board/Shampoo/Conditioner are provided free of charge.

Compared to the special price offer, it was not bad... but still location issue can't be resolved. If you get out the hotel, you will hit a dirty and smelly road without certer yellow line on it... lodging's fine and clean at least. You should definitely meed local friend (s) when you are there...
