Facilities are old, carpets are dirty, hallways and lobby smell like smoke, soundproofing like paper paste, water four bottles a day, hand paper a day and a half rolled, toilets are not smart, reception is indifferent, bedding is clean and water pressure is high and the whole hotel looks like it's stuck in the 90s. I indicated the quiet room when I booked the ride. The receptionist somehow thought, perhaps just to prank me, and arranged for our mother and daughter to be on the 11th floor. The next two rooms were not like regular guests, because the doors were wide open day and night, men and women in and out, often speaking loudly and laughing after midnight. On the same floor there was a meeting room, and one night it was also a lot of people who were noisy late. Since it's the business floor don't arrange for ordinary guests to come in, other floors are not empty, so simple reason I don't believe the front desk didn't think, so it should be deliberately disgusting to me. The receptionist was the most indifferent, the worst being a young woman with a ponytail and round glasses with a southern accent, who never said 'hello', always stinks, doesn't hear me well and is impatient with me. Hotels brand themselves as upscale on some platforms, but actually offer less service and amenities than some express hotels. The habits of state-owned enterprises are reflected here. Without Inner Mongolia's local leaders here publicly funded accommodation would have been out of the market.

This is a Chinese hotel. That is not a bad thing. Unless you utterly dislike smoking. Our room was clean but it always smelt of cigarettes. Didn't understand until I saw a man standing at the door of his room, puffing out to the corridor. No smoking in the rooms, hotel explained when we asked if we indeed on a no smoking room. But the hotel can't stop guests from smoking (like along the corridor). AHA! We asked for quiet and away from lift. We got it... it was down a long corridor then down a short flight of stairs (with suitcases!) and right at the end. The view was towards an alley and some old apartments. I suspect the front facing rooms even though there is a road, might have been fine, as the road isn't close to the hotel. The room had a nice big bed, new & spacious bathroom but with a glass door - so if you want some privacy when showering or sitting on the toilet, there's none. The room had a small table for work or tea (provided), a nice L-shaped sofa, wire cupboard for clothes - very odd, a projector screen (??) but no TV (or projector), an aircon and radiator. We didn't get to figure out if they worked well as our host moved us to another hotel. But others in our party who stayed gave mixed feedback. Some loved it, others not. Comfort was not an issue, basic was what was often remarked.

A great stay for the price. I have stayed at this hotel several times in the past and it is a good hotel for the money. I think the best part is the service, not only from the doorman but the whole staff. It is not a high end hotel but has a respectable breakfast and clean comfortable rooms.
