Hotel very close to the station and equipped with every service. Very helpful staff, lunch and dinner on-site at a low price and of good quality, varied breakfast, laundry service is convenient as they handle every procedure independently. The only flaw concerns the countless floors, which are not equipped with an elevator; although the staff drags your luggage for you, it is a bit inconvenient. The structure itself is dilapidated, even if very clean. The metro is the one at the station, it is not that immediate (10/15 min). However, the ratio of quality to services offered is excellent, I would recommend it... if you are not expecting a luxury hotel, it is perfect for a comfortable stay.

I cannot speak highly enough about this beautiful hotel. Located just 10 minutes walk from Beijing Railway station, this hotel is hidden away down alleyways away from the main stretch which is ideal. There is also a very handy shop on the corner as you come out of the hotel, to your left about 1 minutes walk, reasonably priced too. The people on the front desk were friendly, helpful and very kind. The room was nice, just the right size and it was quiet and nicely done out. The bed was comfortable and the tv had a good number of channels, a good selection, with some channels showing the World Cup. The room had its own telephone, fridge, air con, hand soap, towels etc, the shower area was clean. Rooms got cleaned daily with new towels too. Granted, the hotel could do with a lift, though i only had to climb two flights of stairs to my room. There is a beautiful courtyard which is just great on a nice hot evening or early morning breakfast. There is a lot of history with this hotel regarding Edgar Snow, unfortunately i was n ot there long enough, just two nights, as i would of liked to of learned a bit more about this hotel and especially Edgar Snow. The hotel serves breakfast which wasn't to my liking and was basic. However, they do have their own restaurant (which is where you have breakfast), an i can honestly recommend that you eat there as the food is lovely and is reasonably priced. I ate there both the nights i was there and was not disappointed (see photos attached). The language was a issue as communication was done through a translator app on the phone. I must give a mention to the lovely Lizzy E who works in the restaurant there - she is a credit to them , she is lovely lady, with a great sense of humour and a lovely smile. Thank you for making my stay just that much better. I stayed in 3 different hotels whilst visiting China (Beijing and Hong Kong), an this hotel was by far the best of all of them, by far. I really, honestly, cannot find anything to fault this place - it is very rare that i give 5 stars, but for this place i have an they fully deserve it. I only have one regret, well two, and that is that i did not stay here sooner, an the other being that when i did stay here i wish i had stayed here for a good number of nights more. Well done Zhong An' as you have shown what a hotel should be like.

This was our first stay in the city of Beijing for our family vacation. We booked a room here primarily due to the price and location. After learning a bit more of the history behind the central figure, Edgar Snow, my parents loved it even more. What we didn't know was that would come to enjoy our stay that much more once we got to experience it first hand. Firstly, our room was available about two hours before check-in. I know this can't always be guranteed but we found it really nice of them to not just have the room available earlier but also not charge us for that. The inside reception area is nice and clean. Past that area, you have to go through a quaint courtyard that leads to the entrances of your rooms. I'll note that in just about all the common areas, there is information to learn more about Edgar Snow and his book, Red Star Over China. I found this to be a really unique perk. It was almost like having a mini museum in our hotel. Our room was in the the building straight ahead and we were located on the first floor. It was relatively cramped for three people but you get what pay for I guess, so can't fault the hotel (we paid about $120 total for two nights stay). The room had all the basic necessities, including Chinese copies of Red Star Over China. I also liked that they offered a menu of the restaurant, informational sheet on all the overlooked amenities (such as the coffee machine open from 10AM - 10PM in the reception and daily guided tours over the life and work of Edgar Snow), and actual house slippers. I'm not talking the flimsy plastic kind but real hard plastic ones. In terms of other amenities, there is a fitness center but unfortunately it was still under renovation. There is the aforementioned restaurant. We never formally dined in there. However, we did partake in their free evening snacks. I'm not sure if it's different across nights. On our particular night, they had millet porridge (which my parents said was adequate) and fried rice. Now, I will just quickly say that this was some of the best fried rice I've had in quite some time. There wasn't anything fancy about. It was just simple egg fried rice done really well. I'm not lying in saying I would stay here again just for the fried rice. They also offered this bright yellow drink that I never got the name of that was really good. It was sweet and went so well with the fried rice. Other things to note, it was centrally located in Beijing and within walking distance to Beijing Railway Station and the associated subway station No concerns with noise levels as well. Service was excellent. There was always at least two people at the reception desk who were more than capable. In fact, they helped us book our visit to Tianamen Square without issue. Overall, Beijing Zhong An Hotel was superb in more ways than one. It had everything we were looking for; highly recommend!
