Crowne Plaza Beijing Chaoyang U-Town

Wow! This is a beautiful, conveniently located hotel in Beijing. Large, well-appointed rooms with very comfortable beds. Staff is awesome and so friendly and helpful.

My recent 2 consecutive stays at Crowne Plaza Tianjin Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts Beijing Chaoyang U-Town were unfortunately a very disappointing experience and far below the standards I would expect from an international hotel brand. While the property itself has potential, the overall service quality left much to be desired. Upon checking out on my first stay I requested that I would like to have the same room upon coming back but the Front desk guy was very unobliging in his response. As they are using the Opera system all it took was to make a note of it and moreover it was the 1 King Premium High Floor Lounge Access. In both of my stays there was no welcome letter or even a simple fruit platter as in all the other IHG hotels. My first stay had not much incidents as I was out most of the time but I would like to commend the housekeeping lady at 1802 for her thoughtfulness especially when she saw that I was unwell and left me with more bottles of water and even offered to give me medication. My 2nd stay was a complete nightmare from the moment I was checking in. Not only did they not reserve the room for me they even put me on another floor. I was very upset but there was nothing much I could do about it. After checking in I asked the concierge where I could go to buy some milk and he told me to walk to the junction and said there were 2 convenience stores there. I did but then I realised that I had to cross the road and decided against it. I then went back to the hotel where I later discovered that there was a supermarket in the basement of the mall adjoined to the hotel through the hotel lift lobby. In the evening when I went to the club lounge and sat down for some snacks I asked for a coffee and was served in a takeaway cup while a China man who came in a few minutes later was served with a nice porcelain cup. The feeling they gave me was that they did not want to serve me at all. It was so insulting! Breakfast selection was good with a vast variety but due to the shortage of staff they were unable to clear the tables fast enough for a turnover. Overall, the stay lacked the level of comfort, professionalism, consistency, and hospitality that guests would normally associate with Crowne Plaza and IHG properties. Small issues on their own may be understandable, but repeated service failures throughout the stay created an experience that felt disorganised and careless. The stay was frustrating rather than relaxing. Basic expectations such as consistency, attention to detail, and quality service were clearly lacking throughout my visit. It was truly disappointing to encounter so many avoidable shortcomings at an international brand hotel, and unfortunately, this experience did not reflect the standards or hospitality that guests would normally associate with a hotel of this calibre.

I stayed for two nights in qs large hotel close enough to the main attractions of Beijing, which with the Didi app you reach quite quickly. It 'really big and has the convenience of having a mall of 4 floors (shopping center) adjacent where you can dine, shop, drink something, so without moving too much.The room was small and being us in 3, there was added a very uncomfortable flying bed and that did not allow us to turn in camera.Il bathroom was large with bath and shower.Accessories 5 stars with Dayson hairdryer, full courtesy set, bathrobes, etc ecc.Wi really unstable and sometimes absent. Courteous staff but who really speak English, apart from the usual sentences made, few, think just smile but do not understand the language. Hearty international breakfast both sweet and savory. Lifts always full that do not allow you to get on and off quickly, all very chaotic.
