Holiday Inn Express Beijing Minzuyuan Hotel

The hotel is very good, it's even surprising that there are so few reviews and no fresh ones at all. China was the first time and it's the first hotel we checked into during our trip. We arrived late at night, we were met by a polite staff member at the reception, immediately issued without any tourist vouchers and helped to sort out the elevator. Didn't know you could only go up when you scanned a room key card. The standard room has everything you need: two bottles of water and a tea set (kettle, mugs), slippers, towels, shampoo, conditioner and liquid soap, conditioner. The furniture includes comfortable beds, a large wardrobe with a safe, a TV, a table and nightstands. Especially appreciated the small round table and the soft sofa, on which often lay during the day. The window opens just a little bit, just for airing. The Wi-Fi works. The cleaner comes in every day, but tries to do it in the absence of visitors, apparently so as not to get in the way. Breakfasts are lovely - big choice, everything fresh, delicious: hot buns with and without fillings, eggs, sausages, toast, meat and vegetable cuts, fruit, juices, tea, coffee, desserts. There's a laundry on the ground floor. I liked the fact that there were few people, there was no jostling, no noise, the impression was that mainly this hotel is not used by tourists, but business people. And the locals. The only downside, not even the hotels, but the neighborhood that there is no sidewalk and no pedestrian area, is to walk right down the road where cars and scooters scamper. But there's a 7/11 store nearby where we shopped daily and there's a subway station nearby.

Hotel is currently known as LeafIN Hotel Beijing Minzuyuan. For the relatively inexpensive price, the room was well equipped, even if my view was the inner courtyard... Also, a rich buffet breakfast was included in the room price. Beitucheng subway station is a few meters away. None of the staff spoke English, but Google Translate did the work.

My first room was totally shabby and disgusting in a dirty and run-down neighborhood. I felt like I was back in the nineteen fifties. The sign of the hotel was even broken. I was too embarrassed to have my friend come upstairs to get their gifts, already feeling so awful about having them to drive to this rundown street with trash all over the sidewalk. I asked to be changed to a newer room after one or two nights. The newer room was much nicer. I don't understand why they would assign the worse kind of rooms to a loyal customer when much nicer rooms were available. Breakfast is mostly cheap carbs.
