Home Inn Neo Beijing Guomao Shuangjing Metro Station

If you are not fussy about a traditional place and all you are looking for is functionality and cost, then this hotel chain may well be your choice. This branch is 5 minutes walk from the subway, about 20 minutes walk from Guomao, it has reasonably priced rooms with tv, internet and the usual amenities. A friendly staff and large entrance where you can get food. The area abounds with restaurants and shops. Buses stop just in front of it. I have been there twice and will go back again.

I'm a new convert to the Home Inn hotels -- they are all over China, especially Beijing, and provide cheap, consistently clean rooms that can be booked online at homeinns.com (I'm not sure if they have English on their website -- use Google Language, it's worth it.) At Shuangjing, the elevator was a little small, but the service was courteous and the price was right. The only downside to a great experience was that the toilet flushed very slowly. We didn't try the breakfast, but it looked like a decent selection for a good price (RMB 15 for a buffet with about 30 selections). I'm writing this review from Qingdao Home Inn (Railway Branch) and would like to say that for inexpensive, non-hostel lodging across China, Home Inn is a great bet.
