King Wing Hot Spring International Hotel

We had a weeks accommodation booked at this hotel but only managed to last out 2 nights. 1st room we were offered was very dirty and shabby with mould all around the bathroom and cracked tiles. Luckily the lock on the door didn't work so we were given another room next door. This room was also shabby and the carpet was full of stains, the furniture very scratched and old and again the bathroom tiles are cracked and mouldy. 3 of the restaurants are closed down leaving only 1 open and this was supposed to serve international cuisine but we struggled to find any European food at breakfast. The pool and gym were closed and we were not even allowed to go to the floor they were supposedly on? The reception staff barely spoke or understood English and every night we had cards advertising ladies available for room service . There was also a supply of condoms etc in the room on the desk. The hotel is advertised as home from home for families but this would be a terrible place to take your family. We had booked some excursions before we got to Beijing and our guide said we were really a long way from the centre. In fact we were picked up at least 45 mins before the next pick up. We moved hotels after 2 nights and the hotel didn’t even ask us why!

Reception was very nice although very few of the staff speak English which made check in interesting. The restaurant had a good selection of food with cereal, fruit and yoghurt as well as extensive Chinese dishes. But the rooms were a little tired - my bathroom door couldn’t shut and the smoke smell was strong, they had trouble with the lights too.

On arrival at this hotel we (wife & I) thought this is something special, the reception area was so bright and so well decorated and with the reception staff and porters so helpful. Then we got to the room, the carpet could have down with a clean and a splash of paint to cover drink spillage on the walls would have helped. The bathroom was a good size however could have done with a bit of TLC. The room was cleaned and beds made up with fresh towels daily. The staff in the restaurant were helpful and the food was very good and at a reasonable price. Overall this is a pleasant place to stay but could do with the rooms to be looked after a bit more.
