Wangfujing Da Wan

I had booked by a travel agency, so the room was payed in advance. So they stored me in a mouldy, dirty, damp cave hole FOR 9 DAYS!!! Said "fully booked", that was the end of their English. The description of the rooms when I booked was quite different. Every evening I went beetle-hunting. They never cleaned the room, just changed the towel and emptied the waste basket. The bed is hard like a plank. You get life all the quarrels of other guests and the staff at every time (even at 4am...) Look closely at a map for the location, the entrance is in a small alley, just round the corner of the big street. +good WLAN +Key deposit of 200.-yuan I got back without problems when leaving. +They kept the luggage after check-out. +super location near the center, directly at a subway station That was the worst room I ever had (including HongKong, where you pay for every additional square-centimeter), and I always choose cheap hotels.

The hotel was very hard to find since the entrance is in an alley way. When I checked in I had a very difficult time communicating because the people at the front desk do not speak English. Although the room was paid, they wanted $200 Yuan as a deposit. They will not accept a credit card for this deposit. I knew I had chosen a room without windows, but as I was walking towards the room I noticed a restaurant and a smelly toilet near the rooms. That smell just lingers in the room. There several gnats flying in the room. The beds are rock hard. I had book for 3 nights, but after I saw the roaches I had to leave. I attempted to let the staff know why I was leaving early, but they just did not understand. The shower and the toilet are squished together. As soon as I turned on the shower the entire bathroom was flooded. The pictures that you see advertised are no where near what the rooms downstairs look like. I would recommend that you pay a little more and stay at a much better hotel.

One of my worst hotel experiences so far. No wifi in the hotel. No English spoken by anyone. How do they expect to communicate with their guests? Oh, they tried a useless translator once. Check-in was a nightmare. Although we had paid in advance for three nights, they insisted on us paying 200 Yuan for the minibar in advance. When we got to the room, angry as hell, we realized that there wasn´t even a minibar in the room (we had three different rooms), only two bottles of water that were 3 Yuan each! Very dated and worn rooms. Toilet ring broken in two out of three rooms. Beds were OK. Breakfast=lousy. Staff attitude: worst ever. Cannot understand how they survive with real, luxury hotels nearby for just double the price. Will never let my travel agency book again.
