Yongli is a great spot to stay with all the benefits of essentially staying in a 1 bedroom apartment complete with associated facilities eg decent storage, living area, wifi, washing machine & microwave. The room are comfortable , quiet & in a great location near the workers stadium, Yashow market & a wide range of restaurants , convenience shops etc. Value is good. All rooms are different as essentially they are privately owned and furnished.
As mentioned by others the most difficult issue is finding the entrance & then reception (on the 5th floor) Whilst the main block can be found relatively easily, (see instructions below) there are no signs even at the 5th floor reception which is in room 507! Block 2 where yongli is located is behind block 1 and is approx 150 metres from the road through what can appear to be a still work in progress building development. Arriving at night as we did multiplies the difficulties exponentially. Fortunately we had friends already checked in who were able to meet us on the main road and walk us in - otherwise I think we would have had zero chance at midnight!
Once located Yongli is well worth the effort - recommended
To get there:
Coming in from the ring road the most direct route is along Gongtibeilu. You will pass PPC on your left then Sanlitun / Beer st on your right followed fairly immediately by the well signed and signposted Yashow Market on your right which has a pedestrian bridge crossing the road. Most taxis know Yashow so it's a good aiming point if all else fails. Continue straight past Yashow on your right, go through a traffic light (xingdonglu) and pass the workers stadium entrance on your left. There is then another pedestrian bridge prior to the next traffic light. Yong Li is the large complex on the right filling the space from the pedestrian bridge to the traffic light with the Mingshen bank being the building next to it (unfortunately this is not lit up at night). If you cross the traffic light & pass morels on your right (a good Belgian restaurant) you have gone too far....
Block 1 comprises the buildings facing the road whilst block 2 can be accessed by going down the right hand side of the building (nearest the pedestrian bridge). The entrance to block 2 is approx 150 metres from the right on the left hand side. Reception is on the 5th floor in room 507. There are no signs on the building or reception. Good luck !
