The Purple Horse is a true luxury boutique hotel. The poor reviews on Trip Advisor are for a different hotel! I really cannot fault anything about it. We usually stay in luxury boutique hotels and the Purple Horse is as good as any we have stayed in. Here are the notable positives: - large, very modern and well-designed rooms with the most comfortable large beds and softest pillows. The bedrooms are of the highest quality. - huge powerful shower and a bath. - spotlessly clean everywhere - located in the heart of the hutongs and close to the vibey Dongsi North Street - the breakfasts are wonderful and the chef is very good and a really lovely man. He makes a fabulous omelette. We even enjoyed the Chinese options he cooked for breakfast. - the restaurant where you take breakfast serves food free for guests all day and all evening with the same excellent chef working all day. - the tea options he has at breakfast and his knowledge of tea are so extensive - we had a tea ceremony every day! - good rooftop bar with great views Note - don’t use Apple Maps to find the hotel as it takes you to the wrong place! Google maps is fine.

There's always plenty of different food. And the staff will always help, tell you everything. I want to highlight the work of chef Thor Hou, smiley, always ask how the morning started, did not release with breakfast until he fed)))) And one night we stopped by the restaurant and the chef Thor Hou made a tea ceremony for us and fed us delicious homemade soup. My friend and I were very pleased. I'll also note the restaurant on the ground floor. The duck is excellent. And what struck me most was the 🪷meditation room.
