Chong Wen Men Hotel

Booked this trip with intrepid. Trans Mongolia. The hotel is a bit dated. I had to go to reception twice as both rooms smelt of smoke, so third time lucky. In China they smoke everywhere as they're allowed, but not in the rooms but I'm afraid smokers can't help themselves but to smoke in the rooms. The staff didn't speak much English but used a translator on their phone which was good, thank God for mobile phones.

The location was good, very central and convenient to the subway. The sleeping part of the rooms was nice, but the bathrooms need some work. There was mildew and the towel racks and metal parts had lots of rust.

Hotel in a great location. you can walk to many of the sights, shops, transport and resaurants. The staff were very helpful and attentive. All were willing to use a translator app where we couldnt communicate with signs and the few words we knew of each others language. The room was fine, consisting of bedroom and lounge area, pillows a bit hard. The ensuite bathroom had cracked tiles and black grout but this wasnt a huge concern to use but beware if this is a dealbreaker for you.
