Hutong Inn Zaoyuanju

The rooms on the 3rd floor is leaking water from the roof when its raining. The hotel is pricey for what you get. We liked the hutong area and it is close to the subway but there is much better options for the price

There is an inch of dust around the skirting boards and the reeking of stale cigarettes everywhere in the building. Wallpaper hanging off and torn, curtains hanging off their rail and dirty. Someone else's stains in the toilet, a forest of mould around the edges of the bathroom and questionable stains in the hand basin. The smell of stale cigarettes permeates the pillows and quilt. Windows so filthy that you could barely see out of them. Yes, it's cheap, but you can get for the same amount of money far better accommodation in Beijing. The front desk staff also let you know what an inconvenience you are for asking a question and interrupting their texting. ( probably a coping mechanism for all the complaints ) It in is a great area, and the neighborhood is kind and helpful and very friendly. But, the Inn is a sinking ship.

Very budget hotel. From pluses: good location. Within walking distance of several Beijing attractions, metro. Breakfast is two eggs, toast with butter and jam, tea, coffee, and it's almost everything. Eggs you have to cook yourself. For my friends it was not a problem. Nearby are many cafes, but be prepared for the fact that the toilets in cafe are not provided, as in Beijing-developed system of public toilets. Of the minuses: our room had problems with hot water, had to wait long when out of the shower the water the right temperature. The hotel is suitable for placement on a small number of nights. Be prepared for the fact that the hotel does not accept cards, so make sure in advance about the currency exchange, Bank branches not so much.
