The window in the room was very dirty (on the outside). The air conditioner was sketchy - fortunately it was not too hot. The location is within walking distance of amenities, but be ready for long metro rides to get to central locations.

We were on a guided tour so I honestly don’t know what it cost. The windows were dirty and the lobby staff not that great; we got chewed out loudly after giving a tour guide a round of applause. But the rooms were clean and comfy and the heating/air-conditioning worked, which is more than I can say for some pricier hotels in fancier cities. The neighborhood isn’t fancy at all but rewards a walk-around, particularly after dark when multiple dance clubs are clubbing. There’s a supermarket with everything you need if you come out the door, turn left, and walk a block (cross one street) then go upstairs. The mall across the street has lots of restaurants none of which employ anyone with a word of English. The hotel restaurant has OK food if you have a native guide but I really don't recommend its breakfast for foreign tourists; we broke down one morning and (shame on us) went to the Starbucks in the fancy mall across the street. Your subway stop is Jiaomen East exit C.

This is our first trip to China so I was concerned about the hotel our son had chosen, but it was perfect. The outside boast two elephants and is very attractive. There is a ramp to the right for rolling up your luggage. is poor lighting, but I did see a valuable vase on display and enjoyed the fish tank while our son checked us in! The Reception Area is dark with a bar to get a refreshing drink upon arrival. Be prepared with a $33 local currency deposit in cash. There is an ATM available in the lobby. The service is slow because in China life is more relaxed and a slower pace. The Hostesses at the front desk were able to understand limited English. Anxiously walking down the hallway, I realized I had nothing to dread. There was a fresh clean smell. Inside the room we found two double beds. Beautiful wood closets and sink area. The shower empties well and really it is a very nice bathroom. The beds are quite comfortable. The carpet is soft and very clean. Romantic Hotel? Well if you call a glass shower that you can see from the bedroom romantic - I quickly closed the curtains since our son was with us. The internet service in the room is very good. Also in the Bath are combs and any thing you might have forgotten including a hair dryer. There is a nice bath rug and the towels are think, big and rich for a king. Defiantly would use this again.
