Paradise Gloria Grand Hotel Beijing

We spent 3 nights here and they didn't provide bottled water, claimed that we can boil the water and drink it. First night we did it and gotcha! The water is very terrible, we cannot drink it. It was very dirty. We checked with the friend next door and they also face the same case. Second and third night no more try. It is better to buy outside. How come they don't provide bottled water but the water quality is that bad?

The worst ever - really. 1. Outside of Beijing, with nothing around it, so good luck getting water or food. 2. The Lobby smells of mold and urine. 3. There is no pool or gym - the pool, spa, and gym, which are outdated and poorly maintained, are owned and managed by a separate business that shares the building with the hotel. It costs $20.00 USD to use it a day. Creepy gangsters (security?) follow you when you come in, harrass you, and, if you are White, parrot your English like children. It's bizarre. 4. The front desk staff don't speak any English - at all. They don't help you or talk to you. 5. The front desk doesn't have a safe - they ask for your passport and then put it on the floor, against the wall. 6. The hotel is just old, dirty, and smelly. They don't clean it or keep it up. Hallways - elevators - everything. 7. The doors to the rooms don't work. You get locked out and the key fails. 8. The rooms are really dirty! Not even vaccumed. 9. The mini fridge is empy - moldy - and warm! I had two rooms - it was the same in both. 10. Wall paper is coming off the walls. The beds are worn. The chairs are worn. Everything is so old and worn out. 11. The shower leaks badly. The bathroom was actually flooded. 12. The bathroom wasn't cleaned in either room. Hair, bugs, dirt, urine - I had to clean it myself. 13. There are no door signs, so I told the front desk to not clean my room - they did anyway. 14. Which was a joke! I left dirty plates, cups, and old food in there- the cleaning service only did two things - made the beds and took out the trash. I had to take the dishes down myself. 15. The T.V. doesn't get half the channels the list advertises. 16. Breakfast is terrible. Just - really bad. A lot of pre-packaged Chinese food, like wontons and fried chicken fingers in sweet and sour sauce. Bad coffee. Only good thing was the egg service -but they don't do it unless you bother them about it. And then, they only use the cheapest ingredients - the eggs had a noticable flavor that was really unappealing, compared to the food I eat in Korea or America. And they don't cook the eggs - they deep fry them. Really strange. 17. The safes in the rooms don't work - the batteries are used up. I asked for new batteries - they didn't know where they came from. I said "from your safe." They didn't understand - it's obviously been a long time since anyone tried to use the safe. So good luck keeping your valuables secured in this hotel. All-in-all the worst ever. Don't go there - It's Beijing! There are so many other choices.

Went on a package tour and stayed there for a few evenings assigned by the Travel Agency. Internet in room is free but only LAN type, Password u have to get from the frontdesk. Free WIFI avialable in the Lobby only. Location is terrible as Hotel is far from the main city area - u need abt 45 mins to an hour on the train back from the Fobbiden City area. The Train station is abt 10 mins walk to the back of the hotel. There is a also a shopping centre behind the hotel also abt 10mins walk away. Breakfast is normal chinese style. Best to avoid. There is a SPA attached to the hotel which u have to pay to use. Rooms are big and spacious. Flooding during shower is a norm. Generally an average 3 -Star Hotel. Definitely not 5 -Star as what they advertised.
