Shen Zhou International Hotel

Rooms are nothing like the picture. Smoke gets thru walls, bathroom drains don’t work, mold on floors. This place is filthy. And the front desk receptionists are rude, mean, and dishonorable. One lied to my face when I asked for an extra towel. There are better places. I’d give it zero if I could.

I was looking for a hotel in Haidian district Beijing, somewhere that would be close to 民大 and all the amazing Uyghur restaurants nearby. It was on Google Earth that I found this place and I was surprised to see that all reviews in Tripadvisor about this place were in Chinese only. This is a very clean hotel, great location if you need to be somewhere in Haidian, close enough to the Beijing West Train Station, buses and subway close-by, reasonable price, extremely comfortable beds...and did I mention it is clean? And it even had a Mediterranean vibe to it -- reddish orange tiles, white and blue walls. It was a very pleasant stay in Beijing, air con worked, bathroom was very clean (great towels), wifi is free, breakfast was alright. I was able to communicate in Chinese with the staff, so I cannot comment on their English proficiency. But if you can speak Chinese, it will definitely make your stay in China easier. Overall, everything was smooth.
