We stayed at the Great Wall Beijing Hotel for 10 days during our trip back to Beijing this summer. The location is great; 5 mins to subway, 12 mins biking distance to Sanlitun shopping and bar area and right at the east 3rd ring. The room was good; solid bed, room with all amenities. The hotel is a bit dated, however we see it as old charm. All works well. Any issues, call reception and it will be sorted out right away. Safe hotel with 24h security present around and in the Hotel. I would stay here again on a next visit.

Stayed here 5 nights as part of a package tour. The best thing about the hotel is its location…very centrally located with plenty of shops and restaurants walking distance. The staff were pleasant. Included with the room was a breakfast buffet. It was in a very dated room but did have the normal breakfast items plus some from China. The fitness area was also very dated and could use a complete overhaul. The wifi was hit and miss during our stay. The rooms were also very dated and worn, badly in need of a total renovation. It was not a positive hotel experience and would suggest finding another establishment to stay while in Beijing.

No upgrades have been done since it’s glory days as the famous Sheraton Beijing, so now it’s just a sad and dated max 3 star hotel. We had booked for 4 nights, but decided to check out after one night and find a more comfortable and modern hotel instead. There’s a big gap between the floor and the door to all the rooms, making it very easy to hear what’s going on outside, or inside for that sake. The bathroom is however what made us decide to change hotel, it’s old, the toilet as well as the shower. and even the sink was loose. Tried to fill a bath but it didn’t work as the plug to stop the water was not working. For the bedroom there was no power jack next to the bed so had fk charge your phone next to the tv on the opposite side of the room. but the one positive thing I can say though is that the bed was comfortable and had a fairly good sleep.
