Beijing Jiangxi Grand Hotel

This hotel was booked for us as part of a TripADeal tour. It was probably grand once . The wallpaper was peeling off but it was as clean as possible with the old fittings. Don’t sit down too quickly on the bed …. They’re solid ! It’s like sleeping on wood. To be honest I was amazed how comfortable it was … the towels and toilet paper were luxurious! Breakfast was buffet style and mostly Asian dishes. Offal soup doesn’t appeal in the morning…. There was cereal, eggs and bread so you were able to find something. There’s a convenience store just across the road where you can buy snacks and drinks because there was no bar open to sit and have a drink in. The worst thing about this hotel was the smell of cigarettes. We could see people openly smoking in their rooms ….

The hotel was the first hotel on our wonders of china tour with wendy wu The hotel was dated but had some grand features breakfast was ok our room had problems with water leeking through the light fitting in the bathroom the bed was rock hrd but our tour guide did say to us that the bed was hard as the chinese like very firm beds overall the hotel was ok for a short stay

On 7th September 2019 the cook preparing omelette in the breakfast dinning hall was non co-operative to the extent of being rude. I being on restricted diet, this cook refused to make omelette as I was supposed to take. Other wise Good big rooms, neat and clean and hygienic. Room toilets are big enough with adequate toiletries. Breakfast is well laid out with good options
