We picked this hotel as it was close by to where our friends were that were getting married. Close to subway station and supermarket. However a bit of a mission to get into town by subway. If we didn't have our Chinese friend it would have been quite stressful trying to get to places. If you enjoy a good cup of coffee the only place I would go is Starbucks but even then it doesn't quite taste the same. We were careful with drinking bottled water but we still got travellers tummy and felt quite sick for the first couple of days. The pollution is as bad as they say and I don't think we will be back to China for a holiday. I know that sounds harsh but when you come from New Zealand it was quite a shock to believe that they haven't come up with a better source of generating power. I'm glad we didn't bring our kids as it would have been very stressful. The hotel is dated but clean and has good facilities.

After more than three years, I stayed once more in Tongzhou - fortunately, only one night and as I could only get few hours sleep as the couple next door was very active enjoying (the hotel ?) while walls in the hotel seem to be very thin. Facilities are rather aged and breakfast is definitely not a strength of the hotel - service is at very low level - all staff are not very motivated to welcome and / or serve customers ...

wifi connection was slow, western style breakfast was poor, and the temperature in the room could not be set at a reasonable level..conditioning system would keep pushing to a way too warm temperature. It would deserve more then the 2 stars, for the good location and the overall service. But I couldn't work for the slow connection and couldn't sleep for the heat, which are the only two things which I needed.
