Huguosi Hotel

The hotel's location was the only good thing going for the hotel. It was only a 5 minute walk from the hotel to the entrance of a subway station. Some of the staff members appeared quite nice, but it was hard to communicate with them since there was a language barrier. The rooms were small and dingy. The showers are awkwardly located above the toilet. The walls are paper thin and you can hear every conversations from every room down the hall. It was noisy! They expected the guest to pay a deposit for everyday during their stay. I found practice really strange. I deposit was same amount pay as your stay. Eg. 100Y for the room 100Y for deposit. Communication was a problem for me as the staff there spoke very limited English.

1. Location (4/5) - Pretty centralise and convenient - Located less than 100m away from Ping An Li MTR station (exit B), which is an interchange station of line 4 and line 6. - Along the Hu Guo Si street where you can easily find food (breakfast, lunch, dinner). 2. Room (1/5) - I have booked a single bed room, without window (overall around 10sqm), including a mini size toilet bathroom (around 1.5m x 2m). - Generally run down and lack maintenance - Mattress is too hard for me - Provide a pillow (too flat to me) and a quilt - Expect low quality toiletories (all-in-one toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, soap) and a pathetic roll of toilet paper - Room has a damp smell - Sound proofing is not good - Flush got stuck (even though I have reported to front desk, still stuck subsequently) - Air-con is pretty strong 3. Service (2/5) - Front desk is ok - Provides 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel. Towels feel damp. They are supposed to be white but look unwash/used - NO Wifi/cable internet (advertised to have FREE internet) 4. Price (2.5/5) - Paid CNY 158 per night (via internet, else it would be CNY 178 walk-in) - I think it is slightly high in consideration of its room condition and space. However, since it is during festive period, and in view of its location, I think it is ok. - Have to pay CNY 400 ($84 as deposit) upon check-in Conclusion: - Personally, I like the location as I planned to visit some places nearby the hotel (key reason for my choice) - I did not sleep well for the 2 nights, hence I would not likely to patron this hotel again
