Bamboo Garden Hotel

Nice hotel in the old town, amidst the Hutong and all Things to do. Beautiful spacious rooms, which are tastefully decorated with Chinese antiques. There is a nice garden, a resting place in the busy city. Friendly staff, a good but a bit expensive restaurant with a terrace. Good laundry service. Lovely bed and nice bathroom. There are a lot of eateries around. And around the corner towards the city is a nice Italian restaurant, Papà Danilo, where, if you don't want Chinese, you can eat delicious Italian food. In short: we were very satisfied.

The position of this hotel is excellent for visiting the bell and drum tower and the lake area especially at night( walkable) . The hotel is a little tired but clean. Struggled with the safe sometimes as battery not working but staff very responsive to requests. Gardens beautiful and relaxing. Staff speak very little english but Google translate saved the day! No lifts and we were on the top floor! Breakfast was interesting.....served on a tray with no choice and japanese options! However, overall a fabulous hotel....

To reach it you have to go through a narrow road. It is a very characteristic hotel with a beautiful, well-kept garden. The rooms are very nice, clean and quiet. The beds were very comfortable. Water and drinks from the minibar were free. In the main street there are many small restaurants where you can dine at really cheap prices. With a nice walk you can reach the bell and drum tower, where there is a street with lots of shops. Nearby there is also the lake with a lot of nightlife. The only negative is the breakfast. Typically Chinese and a little sparse, but otherwise we had a great time.
