Guidu Hotel Beijing

We really enjoyed our stay here. It seems the hotel is meant for business travelers (obviously they love it), but we were a family of four (with another family of four) and we throughly enjoyed our stay. The buffet is well worth the cost, as it offers Chinese fare as well as international choices (there’s truly something for everyone) and much easier than seeking out restaurants every morning (ate breakfast there daily) and evening (ate a few dinners there) trying to please a variety of people. We easily took the bus to the Forbidden City and Tian’anmen Square. We took the train (station across the street) to the Summer Palace with ease. The area is clean and safe. Go to the hotel across the street in the basement to get a real Chinese massage! There is a flea market across the street in the other direction. Walk to the Muslim section for great food. Don’t forget to shop at the massive grocery store nearby that has everything you can imagine!

There are many hotels in Beijing, but this is my favorite. Great service, with a smile. Breakfast and restaurants are excellent. Check in is easy and they offer airport and train pickup and delevery service for a fee.ery close to Beijing South train station if you are taking the G trains in China.

Hotel staff dont speak English so it is not international hotel at all. We arrived late at night and spent one hour on front desk trying to check in. Then we came to room with one bed - it was surprise for us because we was there for business trip and booked two beds room. Front desk person even didnt warn us about it - she thought we will be happy because this room is bigger. Anyway one one us spent this night on couch, personal even didnt bring additional linens for us. Situation with deposit shocked me. They asked to give 4000 RMB deposit even though they had frozen money on card for one night and cost of whole stay was 3500 RMB. I said that will not pay that money and we agreed on 400 RMB like we are haggle on market. And this is not end of story. They remembered that have to take 4000 RMB on 3rd day of our stay and asked my collegue from other room to pay 2400. They blocked his room and he couldnt get in there without payment. He payed. On 4th day they blocked my room also - they wanted deposit even they knew that we leave tomorrow morning. On dinner they have nothing exсept carbonara. What to say about good things in this hotel - housekeeping is well, Breakfast ok, but not perfect. It finishes at 9.30 but at 9 you will not find half of food on buffet. Check out was also hard because oh languidge barier, but also not that bad.
