The Westin Fuzhou Minjiang

We were allocated a huge suite with excellent views of the min river. We initially booked the hotel for only one night, but the size of the room and the tailored amenities were the main reason why we decided to book an extra night at the hotel. There is a massage chair im the room and this is a rarely seen feature in most hotel rooms and this greatly enhanced the comfort of our stay. The reception staff were friendly and gave us helpful advise when we needed help with directions. Patryk and Leon were excellent and asked if we would like to extend our stay - which lead us to consider doing so in the first place. However, when we arrived, there wasn't anyone to help with the luggage. Then there was the strong smell of cigarette smoke when we entered the room. In addition, when I went to the gym, I could smell cigarette smoke again by the entrance. We also felt that the room was rather old and poorly maintained. Our shower head broke and the room lock cover fell off. In addition, during breakfast service it takes ages for a cup of hot chocolate to be served. On the 2nd day, we were told it would only be available at 0800, so when it didn't arrive after 0805 we left the restaurant as we had to go somewhere else. The manager offered to get it sent to our room and this only arrived close to 0830. Furthermore we felt that while reception and service staff during breakfast were all smiles, most of the cleaners felt rather unfriendly and did not smile. The cleaner on our floor was rather careless as well. A piece of rubbish probably dropped out when she was bringing the trash out of our room and she failed to notice. In addition, there were some food on the carpet which she did not notice as well. We were a little disappointed when your staff could only mention 三方七巷 when we asked for suggestions on where we could go after visiting 烟台山。 The ice cream stand in the lobby was was hardly manned as well. 我们被安排了一间视野极佳、可饱览闽江美景的宽敞套房。我们原本只打算住一晚，当房间的宽敞和贴心的设施是我们决定续住一晚的主要原因。按摩椅在大多数酒店客房中并不常见，这大大提升了我们的入住舒适度。 前台工作人员非常友好，在我们需要指路时也提供了有用的建议。Patryk 和 Leon 非常热情周到，主动询问我们是否想续住，这促使我们最终决定续住。 然而，当我们抵达酒店时，却没有人帮忙搬运行李。此外，进入房间后，我们闻到了一股浓烈的烟味。而且，当我去健身房时，在入口处也闻到了烟味。我们也感觉房间比较老旧，维护状况欠佳。我们的淋浴喷头坏了，房间门锁盖也掉了。 此外，早餐时热巧克力等了很久才上。第一天至少还在餐厅喝得了。第二天，我们被告知热巧克力要到早上8点才供应，结果8点05分之后还没送到，我们就离开了餐厅，因为我们还要去别的地方。经理提出可以送到房间，但直到快8点半才送到。 另外，虽然早餐餐厅和前台的服务人员都笑容满面，但大多数清洁人员却显得很不友好，脸上也没有笑容。我们楼层的清洁人员也相当粗心。她把垃圾从我们房间拿出来的时候，可能掉下来一块垃圾，她都没注意到。此外，地毯上还有一些食物残渣，她也没发现。 当我们询问从烟台山出来后可以去哪里玩时，你们的工作人员只推荐了三方七巷，这让我们有点失望。 大堂里的冰淇淋摊位也几乎没人值班。

Pros. - Perfect location with amazing view of river (epic fireworks on New Year’s Eve along the river) - Very friendly concierge team while check in Cons. - Neither room upgrade nor welcome fruit was offered as gold member (starting from Platinum status) - Mess at breakfast, 1 hour before closure plenty foods are out, coffee machines are pretty much overloaded - The rooms are out of date and need to be refurbished - At checkout nobody helped us for the luggage
