The real plus point for this hotel is the location. It is just a short walk from the South Gate entrance to the Scenic Area where you catch the shuttle buses. It is also a 10 minute easy walk from the main areas in the town where there are lots of restaurants and, of course, tea shops!
The hotel is a bit of a labyrinth spread out over four buildings but you get the hang of it after a while. The room was a good size but looks rather old and worn. However, the bed was very comfortable, parts of the bathroom fittings are new (bath, toilet, taps) but the rest is old. It has a good size balcony overlooking the gardens.
It is set in a large garden/park at the foot of the mountains and there are various walking trails, lakes, duck ponds, waterfalls, etc. There is a large spa where we were able to get an included massage each day.
The breakfast is Chinese with a few western touches (cereals, toast and eggs). It was reasonable and much as expected in China.
You need to be able to speak mandarin chinese. Overall we enjoyed staying here and found it very convenient.

Wuyishan Scenic Area has currently canceled the ticket system, and there are no facilities such as scenic area gates. Therefore, the propaganda of Wuyi Mountain Villa describing the location of the hotel in a scenic spot should be the same as before.
The hotel occupies a large area, and the accommodation area is designed with a traditional Chinese garden. Therefore, the design of small bridges, winding corridors, and ponds is indispensable.
The room size is acceptable, the bathroom is a bit small, and the equipment is complete.
This time I stayed at Dawang Pavilion, but this building only has one elevator and is under renovation. According to the staff, it has been under renovation for more than a month. If you are a passenger staying on a higher floor, it will take some effort to carry your luggage!
There are more than 100 TV channels in the room, almost all of which are mainland channels, but the foreign language channels are just embellishments, no more than 5. At the same time, the TV's volume appears to be set and cannot be adjusted.
The breakfast is average, and there seem to be many types of dishes, but the ingredients are ordinary, and vegetarians will have more choices.

My family and I spent one night at the Wuyi Mountain Villa in beautiful Wuyishan in June 2018. The staff, most of whom spoke little English, were all courteous, helpful, and professional. The room was beautifully done in cool, calming almond white with dark wood floors and closets, and light wood window frames. We had a small balcony, which was nice too. The property itself is beautifully landscaped with a delightful garden, offering stunning views of the Wuyi mountains. Former Queen Beatrice of the Netherlands even stayed here back in the 80s or early 90s. We had a decent dinner, but breakfast was superb, especially the fried, round dough with spicy chutney. A beautiful resort and a beautiful place. Wuyishan, with its stunning vistas and idyllic tea fields, is class southern China. One thing though is that one or two spots on one of the exterior walls could have used a bit of paint. Also, Wuyishan is stiflingly hot during summer, so bring plenty of water and avoid walking in the sunlight.
