Yun He Hotel - Xiamen

This hotel close to SM Supermarket, Xiamen is nestled between some busy roads and a road filled with traditional Chinese shops, restaurants and food stalls. It appears to share this huge building with a Building Company and some other businesses. In the lobby is a convenient tuck-shop selling cold drinks, iced tea, some toiletries etc. However opposite the hotel I found some freshly sliced and well wrapped fresh fruit in season which was refreshing being Summer in China during September. Check-in was difficult even with my Chinese host present but check-out went quicker with the receptionist offering to call me a taxi. Breakfast was very traditional however staff brought me countless cups of instant Nescafe. I used the dining-room's WiFi which proved much better than the hotel room. My only downside was this top-floor oversized room with an "open" clothing closet i.e. a rack against the wall with hangers and no doors or anything else. The balcony looked unfinished in that the cement work looked raw.
