Castfast

Some good, some bad at the Castfast. The Amor Hotel is used almost exclusively for weddings, and on weekends is jam packed. The hotel grounds are pretty amazing and the rooms are very nice and clean. Staff is always professional and helpful, although English is highly limited. Do not stay in the "service apartment" section. It was nice once, but it's terribly run down now. Breakfast is awful. Food is poor, gnats on the fruit, and the dining area is horribly crowded most days. While the grounds are great, there really isn't anything else to do in this part of town. Best bet is to go to the park in FengGang, but this involves trying not to get ripped off by a Dongguan taxi driver.

The hotel is just close to bus stop, shops and small restaurants. The room is spacious with good view. The only area to be improved is about the cleaniness as stains on carpets are easy to find. As hotel users you can also use the swimming pool and enter the Longfeng Villa. It takes 15 mins to go there but it is possible to call for a drive at reception.

It is really better than I expected for a 4 star hotel in China. People often compared 4 stars hotel in China is equivalent to a 4 stars hotel internationally. It is more of a 3 stars hotel. The 2 bedroom apartment is huge with queen size bed in each room. There are a total of 3 TVs, 1 in each rooms and 1 in the living room. There are 2 bathrooms (1 in master bedroom) with full tube and shower in each. The shower is powerful and hot. There is a kitchen with stove, fridge, etc. The room is clean and comfortable. The only problem is the service. It is a problem in China that the service is so poor. Expect to check-in & out to take a long time. They lack efficiency, manner and service. Other than that, it is a nice hotel. It is within walking distance to Longfeng Villa (10-15 minutes) or take the free hotel shuttle. There are plenty of food around. There is a KFC next to the hotel which operates 24hr. There is a huge supermarket nearby.
