Atour X Hotel Guangzhou Qifu Road Yunli

This hotel is located far from... it depends what you are looking for, some of my suppliers are nearby; that's why we came here. The nearest metro station is Baiyun Cultural Square(Line 2), but not close enough to walk, 5 min by taxi. There is a Metro supermarket just around the corner, and a 7/11 store across the street. If you want a Soft bed, have to ask for it, big room, big shower, wifi is good. Breakfast is ok. Some of the staff speak English, so be patient. I would stay here again.

Be alert upon checking-out, to be sure that your account has been correctly gone through, cleared and signed, and your deposit if any has been refunded before you leave the hotel. Some doggy procedures happened with me when I checked out, a sheer poor professionalism shown by the staff on duty.

Stayed here for 5 nights on a holiday. Asked for a non-smoking room and was given a room on the non-smoking floor. However, when we entered the room, there was a strong smell of smoking and there was even ash trays in the room. We called the reception to complain and the hotel told us that they will send someone to do some cleanup. A staff turned up and took the ash trays out of the room and mmm.... that's was the "cleanup"??? Later, we found that the air-con was not cold and we called to get it fixed. However, no one turned up and we sort of gave up.... Its a pity that the service standards was so poor because this hotel is actually quite good. The rooms were reasonably clean and furnished (although mine had the smoke smell). In addition, it is within walking distance to a huge shopping center and there's lots of restaurants nearby. Another point to note is that there are lots of KTV lounges nearby and even one in the hotel itself. The area is not dangerous but can be quite seedy if you traveling with your family. This hotel is definitely local standards but charges local prices. So, I guess its a case of getting what you pay for.
