If you're looking for a horrific hotel experience, this is your gig! One of the staff went so far as to yell out "gweilo" as we entered, and while I get that some residents don't consider it offensive, I didn't get the sense that it was a friendly greeting. There are mahjong rooms upstairs, and the ceiling was thin enough that we could hear people playing late, and the smell of their cigarette smoke made it into the room, which was pretty slumtacular. Bathroom had a few mosquitoes and "that Chinese hotel bathroom smell." While the smell is sort of par for the course, I've stayed in other places that were far less stinky. We had a window that looked out onto the hallway, but it was covered. This might be considered strange outside China, but it was pretty standard here. Breakfast was the highpoint, actually.

Visited the hotel during October at the time of Canton Fair. Went there without prior booking and they charged me double the normal price which is not so unusual if you are visiting at the time of canton fair. The rooms are good but there is always a strange smell in the corridors. The television must have more english channels and the hotel should have atleast one english speaking staff to cater to foreign guests. The location is not so good if you want to regulary visit pazhou complex. I will suggest hotels close to pazhou complex if you are to visit canton fair.
