If you're on a tight budget but still would like a clean, and reliable hotel, La Perle is a good place to book. I like that there is a convenience store just inside the hotel. The room is spacious. However, it was hard to access the hotel via foot as you need to get into the malls. If the malls are closed you may need to walk around further to get to the hotel entrance.

I’m always in China every 6 months on business and part of my itinerary is staying in Guangzhou where I can meet certain suppliers who are based around the Dongguan region. Usually stay at a different hotel on Tianhe bei called they garden international hotel which I’d recommend but anyway back to this place and it’s location which is pretty central but what you don’t know is you’ve got to walk round the backstreets of Guangzhou to get to which being a foreigner in there eyes and looked at with distrust by locals not the best thing to do at night. Rooms are tiny and pics are misleading with adequate sized bed and shower facilities. Tv wasn’t clear HD quality with no foreign channels such as CNN. Hotel is full of predominantly local nationals so rooms are smaller and staff have that local rude mentality compared to staying at a more international hotel such as the Marriott or The garden international where staff are trained in western hospitality. To give an example I asked the doorman to help me find a taxi to get to a location which I showed him on my IPhone to which he just snatched out of my hand and walked off behind reception!! I stood there looking at him thinking you pleb if you did that in London I’d have nutted you! Picture attached says it all really 🤯

La Perle international hotel is situated behind a mall which is not too far away from the metro. That's a plus point. I was immediately greeted by staffs who were accommodating. However things to note, la Perle international's top floors are being rented out to offices and when it comes to lunch time and working hours, the lifts are often being occupied by these people and then you would have to wait for very long to get in to the lift. There was once I encountered this issue and I brought it up to the staff, there was nothing they could do about this which I think is a big no no. The room which I stayed, toilet and bathroom was separated which I thought the design wasn't very good too. There is another thing to take note, aircon is centralised, so when it comes to winter, the hotel will off the aircon and it will get stuffy at times. Food wise, I will never eat breakfast at hotel anymore as most of the food taste artificial to me. That's all about what I had experience during this hotel stay itself
