I was satisfied being there. The breakfast was really good. The size of the rooms are acceptable. We had the problem of knowing English for the staff (like other places in China) but we managed it anyway.

I was part of a group of seven business visitors who stayed at this hotel from 13 to 15 December 2018. Upon arrival we were greeted by an overly friendly hotel porter who placed our bags on his trolley. I prefer to take my bag with me so I went to remove it from the trolley only to get into a tug of war with an increasingly insistent porter. I finally managed to recover my bag and proceed to my room. My associates were not so lucky. Upon arrival at their rooms the porter demanded payment, extracting a total of 200 RMB (about USD 30). He also entered the bathroom whilst one of the guests was using the toilet. The guests were very upset by the demanding nature of the porter. We complained to the manager who advised that he would talk with the porter and ask him to return the money. The next day the manager said that the porter had denied taking any money and that he (the manager) could not do anything in the absence of any evidence. Really? Seven guests all independently complain that they have been subject to demands for money with menace and you suggest that there is no evidence? Sorry, but all travellers should avoid this hotel unless you want to be ripped off by a dishonest porter and ineffectual manager.

The place pretends to be a French palace or something but unfortunately it has some really cheesy and tacky decorations. The place has gold tone trimmings just about everywhere the eye can see. Overall the place is so garish and truly tasteless that I felt totally uncomfortable staying in there. Our bathroom has a stand up shower silo instead of a tub. But it is so ridiculously looking and I doubt anyone as tall as 6 feet can stand up straight inside.
