Yanling

We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights and specifically chose it because of its location. The main advantage is the subway is literally a few steps from the hotel. It's especially convenient that there's a direct line to the airport with no connections. And the train station is only one station – it was very important for us, because we went to Shenzhen by train. We had a room on the 13th floor. It turned out to be very new, clean and modern, with a smart home system. Cleaning is good, towels are changed regularly. We used to take breakfast initially so we wouldn't waste time in the morning looking for cafes and going straight to business. But it was breakfasts that proved to be the hotel's weakest point. The choice is quite modest, and already at about 9:45 the dishes practically stop replenishing, although breakfast lasts until 10:30. The hot ones were eggs, dumplings and dimsamas, broccoli, fresh salad. There was virtually no meat -- just nuggets. Fruit was usually watermelon and agave, but if you arrive late, you can go without fruit altogether. There is no coffee machine either - coffee is offered from a regular brew. So if we come back here again, I would probably choose to stay without breakfast - there is enough cafe nearby, and the hotel itself is very convenient as a base for trips around the city and to Shenzhen. However, if we had any questions, the staff always tried to help and solve the problem. Overall the hotel left a good impression. For those who travel a lot in Guangzhou, use the subway and plan train trips to other cities, the location here is really very good.

As a wheelchair user, I was allocated 1 of the 2 wheelchair accessible rooms in the hotel. I was staying at the hotel for a ESCAP meeting. The hotel's facilities were adequate with friendly and helpful staff. However, the hotel's surrounding environment is not wheelchair friendly, The nearby train station is inaccessible to wheelchair users. The roadside kerbs were too high and can be dangerous to the wheelchair user. I was literally confined to the hotel during my stay there.

I choose this hotel because it is one minute from the metro station, on the same line as the airport, and intersects with the line I need to travel on for business purposes. It's also one station from GZ east if you need to travel to HK. Service was good except at checkout - when the duty manager decided to have a 'morning meeting' for the commencing staff (4 staff) - who were all standing in a group behind the counter listening intently to the duty manager - instead of helping the 2 staff on desk to check out the 5 or so people who were waiting. Poor checkout is a common experience in China. The hotel is quite basic and the area it is in is quite dull. Breakfast was sufficient. Rooms on level 3 are very average, dirty and smokey... But don't need a swipe card to access so they tend to offer them to single male travellers (some of whom might value that). I asked to be moved and they accommodated that. I am returning to the hotel but paying for a better room. I would say the hotel is a good value hotel if you value the location.
