Renaissance Huizhou Hotel

Very nice hotel. Friendly reception and despite the language barrier, they tried their best to understand and accommodate us. Room was nice and big. Breakfast buffet was just overwhelming and everything looks so good, from Chinese noodles and dumplings to croissants and chocolate buns. Amazing views from the rooms.

I had high expectations for this hotel, given that it's part of the Marriott brand. Upon entering my first assigned room, I noticed a slight cigarette smell and some unpleasant odors coming from the bathroom sink. Feeling uncomfortable with the cleanliness, I requested a room swap, and the front desk quickly arranged another room for me, which I appreciated. However, the next day, after returning from a long day out, we were shocked to find three dead cockroaches in our new room: two by the door and one in the bathroom. It was a rainy day, and we suspected they might have come through the pipes, but it was still very off-putting. We immediately contacted the front desk without touching the dead bugs, and the staff came to check on the situation. They brought a small box of candies as an apology and explained that the weather might have contributed to the issue. While I understand that weather can affect pest activity, I believe a hotel of this caliber should have better pest control measures in place. As compensation for our unpleasant experience, the staff offered us two complimentary breakfasts, which was a nice gesture. Pros: The location is great, within walking distance (15 minues walk) of a nearby shopping mall and the convention center. The views of the water and West Lake are beautiful, making for a pleasant morning or evening stroll along the riverbank. The breakfast buffet had a great variety of options, including Chinese, Western, and Japanese food. Overall, while there were some positive aspects, the cleanliness and pest issues left much to be desired.

First to travel to Huizhou, having worked in Huizhou for 5 years I of course chose Huizhou Hotel as my base for exploring Huizhou. Living in the hall to watch the flowers of the rivers of Huizhou, the most impressed was to welcome our brother in the hall with a smile. We booked an Executive Suite for a reasonable price. The view of the room is also excellent, 1300 feet of space is clean and comfortable. Thank you to the manager Dicky Wang for the warm welcome at the Executive Lounge, whose team fully meets our requirements for alcohol. Food is also abundant and cooked in real time as a valuable chef. I intended to stay in Huizhou for two more days due to the need to cancel the trip back to Hong Kong. There are also three-letter snacks and coffee in the administrative lounge to be hungry, and there is no need to go back on the high-speed rail with hunger during the mutations. Wang's manager also actively helped suggest that the hotel departs with the high-speed train to return to Hong Kong. I will definitely visit again after my busy Christmas.
