KEMPINSKI HOTEL HUIZHOU CHINA

Stayed in Kempinski with my friends for 2 nights. Great location, bus station just right at the corner. And a small shopping mall behind hotel, where you can have affordable food and beverage. Wifi is fast and steady with VPN, this is the biggest surprise for me.

Starting from welcoming at the door, checking in, facilities and so on - everything was the way one would expect in a very well managed hotel. It is not only about the star rank of the hotel, but about the management of it and this place really worths it.

I have been to Kempinski Huizhou many times. There are some things I can tolerate and some that I can't. The more I visit them the more I have hesitation. First off, this hotel is dated. This hotel has done an excellent job cleaning and maintaining the facility, but things are old. Card key can sometimes not work or the lift system has a mind of its own and work separately. Internet connection might be there one second, gone in another. Food can be ill prepared and buffet can be repetitive and boring. Chef at the buffet will offer their unapologetic attitude when they cook something when ordered. I'm always in a hurry to leave the Chinese restaurant during lunch because they take their time to cook and deliver the dishes when I only have an hour. Beware of the lounge Cafe because every single time I've been there, I come out with mosquito bites. And expect other patrons smoking inside the hotel. All the mentioned is pretty common in most hotels but This is suppose to be a 5 Star hotel.
