Greentree Inn Shantou Tianshan Rd. Hotel

Green Tree offers good value in a central area of Shantou. Good hotels are not exactly plenty in this town, thus my recommendation for Green Tree Tianshan Rd. Although you will struggle a bit with the language, the staff does desire to help you and are very willing to accommodate your needs. Rooms are clean with good air-conditioning, excellent television reception as well as WiFi, and plenty of room amenities. Breakfast is quite poor and pricy at 20+ RMB, but there are some good restaurants in the area as well as a McDonald's about a 10-minute walk south on the same side of the street as the hotel. Expect to use taxis a lot to move through the city, though. Verdict: Recommended.
