Was rather worried prior to arrival after reading about moldy smell and cigarette smell despite hotel being non smoking but was glad the rooms we were assigned are free of the above. No doubt the room is very dated but it is spacious and clean. While you can still see wear and tear in the room, it is overall well maintained. Breakfast is a welcoming sight with a wide variety of local food which may appeal more to visitors from Asia. Very attentive staff at the breakfast restaurant. However the pool was closed during the period of our visit.

The second stay in Shantou was also the second at this Sheraton hotel in the heart of the city. The room was spacious and had a nice pool. So this time I didn't hesitate to stay at the Sheraton Longguang Hotel for two days. Plenty of time to experience the hotel's Executive Lounge. The wife couldn't eat anything because of her pregnancy, but loved the sorghum buns offered in the lounge on the first day. When I went the next day, I found that the sorghum buns were not on the menu offered by the lounge that day, but the lounge's Miss Liang LIANG learned of our needs and immediately asked the restaurant to steam three sorghum buns specifically for us. It really moved us and completely exceeded our expectations. Next time you come to Shantou, this hotel is still our choice.

Sheraton has always been one of my favorites. The one at Shantou impressed me with awesome customer service skills along with its beauty and convenient location. We were there for the Cheo Chau event and everyone had a wonderful time. Room was larger than other hotels we have stayed at in China so that’s always a plus. Buffets had a fabulous selection of American and Asian cuisines. Hotel is located at a very convenient area with shopping and courtyards nearby. Overall, I am very thankful we stayed here. Special thanks to General Manager Eric. He took great care of all of us who were there at the event.
