My husband and I booked this hotel to visit my dad, who lives about a block away. The hotel is nice, compared to some of the other local hotels in the area. It is older, but functionally, the beds were comfortable and the rooms were quiet. Most of the staff do not speak English, but I saw a handful of international travelers, so I'm assuming they were able to manage through the language barrier. Like most hotels in ShenZhen, they were happy to show us the room before we actually made a booking. My biggest concern was making sure our room was non-smoking, and didn't smell like it used to be a smoking room. After inspecting both the king bed and 2-bed options, my husband and I booked the two bed option. The king bed was actually two small beds pushed together, not an actual king bed. All of the rooms on the 8th floor were non smoking. The lobby, elevator, and hallways smelled like lingering cigarette smoke, but our room was smoke free! The shower was fantastic- hot water heated up instantly and there was a very strong water pressure. Generally speaking the room was spacious and had plenty of space to open both of our suitcases. Breakfast was included and was pretty good. It was buffet style with a variety of Chinese dishes, noodles and congee. There were a couple of western options (hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs.) The restaurant was packed in the morning so it was hard to find a seat, but we were able to manage okay. Overall the hotel feels a bit like Las Vegas with heavy "Vienna" decor. It was borderline kitchy with ornate furniture, and faux oil paintings lining the hallways. Pros Affordable room (~$75 USD/night) Comfortable beds Good AC (it was super humid outside) Good location (walkable to Halo for food, Walmart, Carrefour, KFC, McD's, and a handful of malls) Cons 1. No (limited?) English 2. No taxi service- The hotel does not call taxis. You have to walk down to the street to hail a cab, which can be a little annoying if you have luggage and/or it is raining 3. Communal areas used to be "smoking" and there is a lingering cigarette smell 4. Free WiFi, but you have to register for a free account. We never figured it out, and were too lazy to ask. We just used a WiFi pack we had rented separately. I would stay here again, with the heavy caveat that I had a room on the 8th floor to avoid the smoky smell throughout the rest of the hotel.

I booked it on line for one night, just because it's close to the boarder. We arrived at 9.30pm on thursday. People at reception can not find our reservation(same as someone mentioned at the pervious reviews). We waited and waited, they finally came up a conclusion; we'd have a room to stay, and they'd try to find out more the next day. Since we have not yet eat, we went to the portuguese resturant on the third floor. We've been told they are closed, the chefs've all gone. So we went out to eat, there are a fews typical Chinese restaurants around, about 10 mins away. Hotel room was big enough for our family, beds are comfy, muddy footprints on the toilet floor, windows are dusty, mould can be found in the room. Noise from the main road at very early morning. Breakfast, we came down to the lobby at 9.30am, again we've been told they are closed, not much food left; they suggest us go out to eat. Overall we paid only 400 hong kong dollers for a night, I guess that's all you can expected right?

This is a very New 4-star hotel with very beautiful modern design. Strategically located 10mins drive from the Shenzhen Railway station. The check-in staff does not really greet you warmly but they work efficiently. Check out were fast & easy. The room is very spacious, clean, simple but modernly designed with mostly frosted white/green glass panels. It really stood out from the rest of the hotels I had stayed. It has everything I need in the bathroom, bathroom weighing scale, free broadband in room, large LCD TV, many TV Channels to choose from, in-room safe, coffee making facilities, hair dryer, etc. I love the very spacious room and setup but the bathroom were a bit inconvenient to use IF you have guests in the room. Cos the whole bathroom wall is made from frosted glass panels. Although my husband said it's quite impossible for the guests to see through from the living room, I have a feeling that my shadow still can be seen by guests while I'm using the bathroom. But there is still a thin curtain where you can pull to cover the whole bathroom area. It's perfectly romantic for couples to stay. Oh, and i think the hotel need to replace some old/dirty floor tiles in the bathroom and some in the lobby. There is some renovation work going on when I were there. There is some minor noise that we can hear from the hotel room. But it's not really that annoying cos our TV went louder that the noise! The Spa was good as it offers 24 hours service although they can't go up to your room for room service massage. There is a Portugal restaurant at level 3. I think the food there is great, tasty and cheap. The lady captain were friendly to recommend us what is good from the menu. The restaurant environment is ok but the place might be a bit too small (about 15 tables). Last but not least, The lifts were ok but a bit small. Overall, this is a nice & good hotel to stay and really worth the $$.
