Grand Skylight

I booked this hotel during a business trip to Shenzhen. It's in a great location, close to major attractions and public transportation: Huaqiangbei Station (100 m - 1 minute), Huaqiangbei Road (700-800 m), electronics stores (Huaqiangbei), and restaurants. Shenzhen Central Park is 300 m away, 35-40 minutes from the airport. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. The panoramic views of the city from the window are stunning! Breakfast: Large buffet, very good and delicious. Restaurant: The food is delicious, and room service is available. There's a minibar with delicious coffee. There's a currency exchange machine. There are 4 elevators. There's also a children's play area. There's a grand piano in the lobby. And that's not all: The highlight was the care, attention, and warmth I received from the hotel staff. I'd like to point out that every single one of them was willing to help with anything. It made me feel right at home. I'd especially like to mention Ms. Nora. She was incredibly warm and friendly and helped with every question I had. I was delighted! Thank you so much, Nora! I'd also like to mention the amazingly hardworking Ms. Pam (if I'm spelling her name correctly), who works in the minibar and restaurant. She was happy to explain the WeChat payment methods. Everything related to food and in-room delivery was also handled perfectly. All of this truly left a very good impression. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone! Next time in Shenzhen, I know where I'll be staying!

What a gem! right in the center of Shenzhen, close to the main shopping areas, great transportation links, very comfy bed, great room and fine and varied breakfast. i totally reccommend it!

In general the hotel was ok and clean, however there were several minor issues that made the hotel less than ideal for a US traveler: 1. the only outlet that worked with a 3-prong (US-style) plug was located in the closet. 2. The mini-fridge was not plugged in & turned on prior to my arrival. 3. The hotel employees spoke little-to-no English. 4. There were people (presumably employees) banging around and vacuuming the hallway late at night ~10:30pm. Also there were more impactful issues: 1. the Wifi was slow with spotty connectivity. 2. Major plumbing issues - the drain under the sink leaked consistently, and the shower leaked a lot of water all over the bathroom floor. I had to use all the towels and both bathrobes to contain the water. First I thought the shower drain must be plugged so I alerted the front desk using a translation app on my phone and they left me a note later that it was fixed. But then the next time I used the shower, the water still built up rapidly and leaked all over the floor so I had to shower very quickly to avoid another flood. I think the shower floor was not sloped toward the drain so the water built up and went over the threshold onto the floor instead of moving toward the drain.
