Motel 268 (Nanshan Qilin Branch)

Our first time at Motel 286 was an experience. But we've been several times since. We need to be close to electronics for our business and the first time, we arrived by shared taxi from Hong Kong direct to the door. Our friends had pre-booked, but because they were not with us at that time things got a bit mixed up until we found a very nice and pleasant young man at the reception desk who spoke a little English. He solved the problem his friends had pondering over and being unable to understand us by simply booking us in to a room and took our details to pass on to our friends when they arrived. The rooms are clean, basic, and pleasant, and though most of the visitors are native Chinese and not so much European, we were treated with great courtesy and respect by both staff and visitors. It is not a place frequented greatly by Europeans, which is a pity. It seems a bit out of the way at first, but only a short walk to everything you need. We now make it a regular visit and we take three rooms for ourselves and our Chinese colleagues. Don't expect too much English to be spoken here, but if you are just a little adventurous and like involving yourself in local people at a very reasonable price, it's great.
