I've been coming here on and off for 10 years. Back then, lots of foreigners were around and the place actually had English speaking desk and doorman. The restaurant downstairs was good and it was a very cool place to be. The view is awesome or Shenzhen Gold Course and a skyline like looking over Central Park in Manhattan. Today, the view's still there. But the rest is about gone. The facility os completely run down, the restaurant is a joke, or closed and the people could could care less. You won't find any foreigners at all. It is for Chinese mid managers or lower. Also, transportation sucks. But, one hell of a view. Thats for sure

It is a pity that many Chinese hotels are so untrusting of "guests", that they find it necessary to do things like having a "floor guard" check the room upon checkout (whilst you wait) to ensure that you have not nicked a bath towel or something similar. This hotel falls into that category. Whilst our room was ok, the hotel itself was cold and sterile, There were no markings to indicate that it was a hotel and infact on our first attempt to find it we spent about 40 minutes in a taxi driving around aimlessly. When we did eventually find it (in a different taxi) we found that it had no markings as a hotel and as the heavy front gates swung open I wondered what type of property we were entering. The service was very ordinary, no doubt affected to some extent by the very limited understanding by them of English and us of Chinese. During one of the evenings (we had 2 there) there was a hotel "guard" on our floor for most of the night, he seemed to be looking for someone and even knocked on our door and had a good look in. The beds were the usual Chinese hardness which often makes concrete look a soft option, We had a meal in the hotel one night. My wife's meal which was supposed to be a pasta dish was not really recognisable as such . Having said all I have, we didn't hate the place, it was a very average hotel but we were not paying a fortune. I wouldn't have wished to spend a week there, but 2 nights was ok. I wouldn't stay again and would suggest that staying at a higher profile "brand" hotel would be a better option.
