SHANGRI-LA HOTEL ZHONGSHAN

The hotel was rated as 5 star (so I was told) and is that in many ways. But, the rooms, while very nicely appointed, are a little smaller than I would expect for a five star hotel. Bathroom was nice, with a separate shower and bath. Bed was comfortable and linen good. Wifi worked well, but was a little slow, but that may have been due to other hotel guests. I would happily stay again. :-)

I stayed here on a business trip when visiting nearby factories for work. It was recommended to me by my boss and I think the service and quality has gone down since he stayed there when it was the Shangrila. However it was convenient to where I needed to be and comfortable and quiet. Wifi worked well in the rooms for my night work. Bathrooms and room were nice. The restaurant and lounge lacked service though. After a long day at work sometime you just want a quick drink and a bite to eat and it was not that easy to get. With the exception of the front desk most of the staff did not speak English.

The hotel used to be a Shangri-La. The service is still ok but not Shangri-La level anymore. The reception was good, rooms are nice and clean. The breakfast was ok even though I expected a bit more variety.
