Chang An Holiday

Classy hotel underneath.... what I meant was at the lobby the setup looks like a Chinese classic hotel but if you go one floor down the world of entertainment is there. From karaoke rooms, and all sort of entertainments are there. The rooms are good and also the spa is value for the money and with affordable price tag. 2 nights of worthy stay...

This was a quick arrangement and we figured with the name "holiday Inn" at the end of its name and being a 5 Star hotel it would be a great at 320¥ a night. To our shock it was not a bargain but I felt cheated. First thing which was clear it was not a Holiday Inn but I was called Zuhai Chang'an Holiday Hotel. Now the lobby was beautiful, something classical and not too bad. The location was in the middle of everything, shopping, tourist attraction and a park. When we arrived in our room we were welcomed by the smell of old cigarettes and dirty floors and bed sheets. We asked for another room but they said no because the other rooms where near a convention and it would be too noisy. The bathroom had make up left behind by another occupant and we where not happy that the housekeeping did not do their due diligence when cleaning the room. We called housekeeping and they came up right away to clean the room again. I will recommend the spa which is typical Chinese and good value. My partner and I had a joint massage and it was fun and relaxing. Then men are required to wear throw away underwear, not a problem but they don't come is a size bigger then 34 waist. The breakfast was the worst of all. If you are a foreigner then you are stuck with typical Chinese food (lunch and dinner). I like Chinese food but the food was cold and the selection was very poor. They did not have eggs, toast, yogurt or anything a typical westerners would want to eat. If you have the breakfast I suggest you eat somewhere else. Overall my rating is fare. The hotel staff was friendly and professional. They made me feel welcomed and did their best to accommodate us. But this is nowhere near a 5 start rating and should be removed from a luxurious hotel to a basic hotel. Internationally this deserves no more than a 3 star rating.

I was there from 15 oct to 16 oct 2016. The room size is good. With a king size bed n still quite spacious. The bathroom is small but there are Tv in the toilet. No bath tub. Condition good enough. We go as a group n some of my friends has special encounter with invisible guest. They hear sound n voices in room. Anyway the room is good enough for me. The location is ok only. Breakfast is not good.
