Recently renovated, the Ming Cheng is now a top choice for travellers who want to be near the action, yet able to sleep comfortably at night. Guilin is a friendly, hospitable city, particularly attractive to photographers and artists. The staff at Ming Cheng are very capable at organising tours and obtaining tickets for their guests to events around Guilin and Yangshuo. There are tourist-friendly bars and restaurants in close walking distance and fabulous markets under the Central Square just two minutes away. I've stayed there for four visits, but now stay with family when in Guilin; however, I always bring my friends and guests to Ming Chen; (I've not stayed there since 2013, but close friends, experienced travellers, still rate it as their favourite for value and convenience).
