Guilin Zelin Hotel

If you take the bus from the airport it takes about 35 min ride. It stops at The Swan Hotel and the Zelin Hotel is about a 10 min walk from there. Ok size room overlooking the city and the Carst mountains in the distance . Nice deep tub for soaking away the travel aches and pains. There was a breakfast surcharge but we just went out. Lots of restaurants nearby and grocery stores. Not much English spoken so get a translator app.

The only thing I like about this Hotel is the Location, as soon as I got out of the train station as I came from Xi'an city, I just walked 4-5 min to get to Zelin Hotel, Hotel is clean service is on time, the staff are friendly but hot water and water pressure is the main problem although I addressed the issue so many time but seems no one care, I got cold :-( there is a guy in the hotel as a guess help his name is Robert he knows English,I don't recommend you to get trip advise from him. study well about Guilin City before you go there, it is a wonderful city to explore.

Twin Room Pros: Near to train station (5mins walking distance) High floor, 12 - 15 floor Room is generally clean and neat. Free wired internet. Cons: Near to train station (noisy when the train sounds the horn) Toilet bathroom curtain stains, mouldy. Bathtub burned stains Instructions in room stated 3 yuan for breakfast to be serve in room from 7am - 10am, but when i call for the service, they said we have to go to the dining area for breakfast and insist they don't serve breakfast to the room. Room has a funny smell, especially from the carpet. The bath towel got a stinky smell. The bath towel is torn. No floor towel in toilet. Lack of security, level 2 - 11 seems like offices and business places, meaning anybody can go to level 12-15 to the rooms. Bed is hard, feels like sleeping on wooden plank. My hip bone hurts when i sleep sideways. Water heater unable to sustain the hot water for even 1 person's bath. Let alone the 2nd person in twin room. Conclusion: I fell ill when travelling to Guilin from Yangshuo and decided to rest at a good hotel room (as compared to Youth Hostel), end up my illness got worse due to the funny smell of the room. I went to another place to stay the next day.
