Tai Lian Hotel

We stayed here for three nights on two occasions and couldn't fault it. The rooms are spacious, clean, and quiet. For the price I doubt you could find better. Its located in the centre of the city walking distance to the main attractions, restaurants, shops etc. The staff was friendly enough. I thought the breakfast was adequate but could be better.

Nicely decorated in south-chinese style, excellent location, friendly staff. Room is equipped with all necessary appliances, beautiful bathroom, good mattress. Breakfast consists of local dishes (plus yogurt, cheese and butter). Some issue may be communication with reception staff in English.

The hotel has a great location on the main street in Guilin. There is a department store next door and a Starbucks and Burger King close by, Its also very close to Guilin main train station. The room was clean and comfortable although the walls are quite thin. However, i did not find the hotel to be foreigner friendly. None of the reception staff spoke English and there were no English language TV channels. The breakfast catered mainly for Chinese tastes. The hotel is very good value considering the standard of accommodation. However, i think i will chose another hotel if i return to Guilin. The lack of communication was definitely a negative.
