Yangshuo Venice

I was appalled by the state of the hotel. It had not been maintained well. First was the door to the room, which had slightly rotted away. Inside, the walls of the room were very dirty, and the floor felt like it had not been cleaned in ages. Meanwhile in the bathroom, the shower curtain had obviously not been changed in the past year, while the bathtub was tilted - leaving pools of stale water from previous showers to gather. This is by far the worst hotel I've stayed at in China. The only thing it has going for it is its location, which is excellent.

Very conveniently located at river end of West St, main street of Yangshuo. Was able to disembark from riverboat after trip from Guilin, check into hotel, leave my luggage in room, freshen up and then rejoin tour group at top end of street for afternoon activities Clean and comfortable room and friendly staff. Cost only RMB128 ($20) for night during October holiday season!!

Situated in the middle of West Street sitting on the balcong watching the passing human parade below it could have been any time in the past 500 years.The service was very caring and attentive. Local scenery lived up to all expectations{ of the 20 Yaun note} Plenty of bars and restaurants in the Old Town area.
