Sanya Barry Boutique Hotel

There are a few confusing things about this place, the first being its name! We booked through Ctrip and this is the name of the listing but the name of the hotel didn't quite match when we arrived. We are not sure if there were 2 hotels that are merging or if one was on top of the other? Our room had a great view and everything we needed (a comfy bed, towels, hot water, wifi, ac etc). The room was run down - the bathroom door didn't close as it had come off one of its hinges and the laminate flooring needed replacing as it was loose (sun warped?). But it was clean and comfortable so we had no complaints staying there. It is also worth noting that when we stayed the place was very quiet with not many guests. However we noticed when someone took the room next to ours that there is little to no sound proofing between rooms. We could hear everything ;) One of the best things was the location and its price. We stayed 5 nights and it was super cheap. It is only a 10 minute walk down hill to the beach (you can use a 'locals' short cut path just off the road or follow the road straight into town). There is a buggy service but I think it was a bit expensive and as there was little English spoken in the hotel we didn't worry. There is a restaurant downstairs, though with limited Chinese we opted for more touristy places in town. There is a veranda, but maybe as we were there over Christmas it seemed closed with lots of clothes being dried etc. It does offer a beautiful view of the bay though. There is a lift tucked round the corner (worth knowing if you are on the 7th floor like us as no one told us and we accidentally came across it on the 3rd day!).
